Project: Client requested a gig poster, and specified that it promote his new single, "Oilfield Tan," but it had no existing artwork yet. Time and budget constraints would not allow a custom illustration or stock art purchase.
Process: I converted a low-resolution, black-&-white, public-domain photo of oilfield workers to silhouette and then traced in Illustrator to produce a large vector file. Then I added the rays and a three-color gradient background evocative of vintage gig posters, in Louisiana's signature colors. (Gig was in Lafayette, Louisiana, and the client is a Louisiana musician.)
